The Business Services Group is organized in teams that provide finance support to most of CABGOC's functions, namely Operations, WELLS, FE, Asset Development, SCM, and other administrative departments. BSG is also responsible for SIOP Reporting to partners and ANPG.
The teams work closely with the business customers by providing support in analyzing costs and financial performance. We also work with customers on process improvement initiatives around cost control and cost tracking. We serve as liaison between the business and other finance functions. We assist and play the role of helping the business understand finance requirements and vice versa - BSG members can learn the business through the BSG set up and are exposed to the business cycle and value chain. Through such engagement with the business, finance will be engaged early on new business initiatives to provide input from finance perspectives and help with decision support. It provides a great opportunity for finance as a function to provide dynamic support to the business and encourage the sharing of best practices across business functions. More recently BSG has been responsible for preparation and submission of Joint Venture Billing reports to partners and SIOP Maps to ANGP. This also offers an opportunity to the BSG members to interact with partners and ANPG from a cost and budget perspective.
