Tombua Landana (TL)
overview
Tombua Landana fields were discovered in 1997 and 2001, respectively, by Tombua-1 and 14-6X/6XST1 wells. The fields lie in the eastern part of Block 13 and cover over 425 sq km in water depths of 900 to 1,700 ft. Geographically, they are situated just south of the Lobito field and north of the Gabela oil discoveries and are bounded by Block 0 to the east and 14 K/A-IMI Unit to the west. An additional 14 appraisal well penetrations were drilled to obtain a better understanding of the geology associated with each of the accumulations, further quantify reserves and evaluate development potential.
The Tombua and Landana fields were declared commercial discoveries on July 8, 2003, under the terms of the Block 14 Production Sharing Agreement (PSA). Two contiguous development areas covering both fields were joined on October 7, 2003. The two development areas were combined for fiscal treatment on September 19, 2005 (N/Ref: 018-1259/CCC/05).
