mooring
The Mooring Operations team was the original Marine Operations Group in CABGOC, having worked in Malongo since the first export tankers arrived.
The Mooring Operations team is charged with operating the CABGOC Offshore Sea Berths, and is responsible for the environmentally safe and reliable export of all oil & gas production from Angola Block 0 and Block 14 in the Malongo Concession. Oil is exported through five SBM's (Single Point Mooring's) in Block 0 and one SBM in Block 14. Gas (LPG-Mix and R-LPG) is gathered and stored on board the Sanha FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading) that is turret moored. Exports are carried out in a side-by-side berthing with the future option for tandem mooring.
The mooring team is also operates the CBM (Conventional Buoy Mooring) Offshore Sea Berth of the Sonangol owned Futila Products Terminal. Gasoline for Cabinda province consumption is imported from the Luanda refinery through this facility while the Sonangol portion of diesel produced by the Malongo topping plant is first transferred by pipeline to the Futila Terminal and then exported through the CBM Berth for Angolan domestic consumption or for foreign export.
The mooring team is responsible for the operational reliability and maintenance of all CABGOC Block 0 and Block 14 Offshore Berths and the Sonangol Futila CBM Berth. This includes but is not limited to oil and gas hose replacement, hawsers replacement ,and any other equipment that forms part of the offshore berths; and the planning and preparation of the scope of work and contracts for scheduled dry-docking and overhaul of SBM's and berths.
The Mooring Operations team is proud of the personnel who have contributed to an outstanding safety record, with no Lost Time Injury (LTI) for over 13 years.
