Links for Searching Vessel Port State and Class History

This section is mainly for the use of the Marine Compliance team to assist in assessing vessels and their history.

The links take you directly to various organisations' web pages that allow you to search for a vessel and view the history of inspections and or surveys. They are similar to some of the links on the marine web links page, but provide direct access to search for vessels.

Not all classification societies have this facility, but the ones that do are linked.

Some of the links will also show you which vessels are "out of class" or have been "black listed" by various port state authorities. Please note, that being out of class can mean that a vessel has changed class, been scrapped, or "sunk", so not necessarily indicative of poor management. Vessel "out of class" due to overdue surveys is a telltale.

A word of caution - these web-sites may not always be 100% up to date as they are not live, but it does provide a good starting point for checking a vessel's history.
