Area B Operations

"Greater Area B" (GAB) is made up of Area B-Lite assets located in the northwest section of Block 0 and Sanha and LPG FPSO assets located in the south west section of Block 0. GAB operates as part of Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC). The Block 0 partners group consists of Sonangol P&P (41%), CABGOC (39.2%), Total (10%), and ENI (9.8%). Water depths in this area range from 150 to 400 feet and the area consists of six producing fields with primary recovery from the Pinda formations. First development from the Kokongo field began in December-1994, and incremental field development has followed with the latest MCP's (Nemba Aux –SNX and the CRX pipeline project) completed in 2016. Peak oil production rates (194,000 BOPD) were achieved in April 2006. Gas compression capability exceeds 1 BCF/d, and is the hub for supply to ALNG from CABGOC assets.

The Greater Area B assets have a total of 10 producing Platforms & LPG FPSO. Unique to Area B is the recently installed Congo River crossing gas pipeline, initiating at the Nemba Complex area. The pipeline is designed to move gas from Block 14 to the ALNG plant at Soyo. Area B is the outer shelf hub for all Block 14 and Area B oil production via EK platform, while the Sanha Complex processes LPG to the FPSO and re-injects all associated gas from the Area B assets. Our goal is to produce oil/gas/LPG: safely, efficiently and reliably, returning each employee home safely every day
